Everything you need to know about amber fort



 The Amber Fort located in Amer is one of the principal tourist attractions in the state of Rajasthan. It is also one of the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Jaipur. Book 3-star hotels in Jaipur to be one of the millions of tourists visiting this architectural marvel each year.

  • History – The fort was originally built by Raja Man Singh in the late 1500s. His successors have expanded the fort further and improved its conditions greatly. It is one of the oldest surviving forts in India.
  • Construction – The palace is built with red sandstone and marble and is separated into six distinct sections. 
  • Design – There are several parts in the temple with four main courtyards. Search for accommodation in Jaipur to experience the Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khaas and other such halls. 
  • Conservation – The commercialization of the Fort has caused damage to some of the very old structures that are present here. This has caused conservation attempts to be initiated by the Government.

The recent years have seen a hike in tourists due to the destination being announced as a World Heritage Site in 2013. The fort is huge in size and the presence of the gardens, hills and lake around the lake make it an optimal tourist spot.
