Being one of the best tourist places in Delhi, the well known Connaught Place (CP) is considered as the largest commercial hub in this India’s capital city. This famous business spot has been instrumental for the growth of many greater Noida hotels, markets, and other business establishments.
- Great heritage: CP was considered as a place of pride for the old colonizers of yester-decades, mainly due to its amazing heritage structures and unique elegance through the eyes of the tourists.
- History: According to the historians, CP was built in 1933 and got its name after Prince of Arthur, known to be the first Duke of Connaught and Strathearn. Many families who lived in its neighbouring villages were relocated after the formation of CP.
- Concentric design: Though CP was initially being designed with circular twin floors, later it was altered with three circles namely Inner Circle, Middle Circle, and Outer Circle. As per design experts, CP’s architecture was developed from the Royal Crescent in Bath.
- Palika Bazaar: CP takes pride in establishing Palika Bazaar, which is known to be one of the oldest underground commercial markets in the country. It attracts tourists’ every day between 10 am and 8 pm. People who stay in budget hotels in Noida often visit here for shopping all household products.
Interestingly, one can access easily as CP, as it has accommodated Rajiv Chowk metro station under it. Undoubtedly, a visit to Delhi is said to be incomplete if a tourist misses visiting this stunning commercial spot located in a prime location.
