Vegetarian Dishes That You Must Try In Mumbai

The ‘City of Dreams’, Mumbai is own for a lot of things – Bollywood, Marina Drive, tall skyscrapers… and the lip-smacking street food at Chaupati. Created with an unexplainable blend of various Indian cuisines, the Mumbai food culture is definitely a culinary delight for foodies. While in Mumbai, you must try these scrumptious vegetarian delicacies.
1. Vada Pav
There are no second thoughts when it comes to Vada Pav. The Mumbai street version of a burger, a Vada Pav has a spicy mashed potato patty sandwiched between the bun and served with a variety of chutneys and spices.
2. Bombay sandwich
There are a lot of street vendors and food junctions that serve the authentic Bombay sandwich. Stuffed with sliced veggies, spicy mix of potatoes and topped with cheese and garnished with mint, sev and what not. These grilled delights tasty heavenly with the traditional chutney.
3. Brun Maska
Even the simplest things have a classic twist in Mumbai. Though at the first look it may look like bread and butter, don’t mistake Brun Maska for something simple. Brun (gutli pav), that’s indigenous to Mumbai, is sliced and lavishly buttered. These are a popular breakfast item at most good 3-star hotels in Mumbai as well and usually enjoyed with the Irani tea.
4. Bhel Puri
If there is something you cannot afford to miss while in Mumbai, is the irresistible Bhel Puri. Though made with the simplest ingredients, this popular “Chaat” is a must-have. It is made of puffed rice, sev, papadi, diced veggies (onion, tomato and mango) and obviously the rich collection of spices and chutneys.
