PLACES TO VISIT IN VADODARA

One of Gujarat's most popular cities, Vadodara, also known as Baroda, has a history that spans more than 2,000 years. The river in the city is known as the Vishwamitri, after the revered saint Vishwamitra. The Hindus, Pathans, Mughals, and Marathas have all held power over the city. Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, and English are among the languages spoken by the diverse population that now calls it home. Vadodara has modern retail malls, fancy restaurants, and old palaces and antique shops, but the nearby Champaner and Pavagadh UNESCO World Heritage Sites are the city's main draws. If that isn't on your to-do list, see what else Vadodara has to offer.

1, The Laxmi Vilas Palace, a majestic structure that embodies riches and beauty, is the first example. Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III built it as Vadodara's royal home in 1890. The palace's construction and erection were done in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style (which represents a synthesis of Muslim designs and Indian materials developed by British architects in India).

2. The largest garden in Western India, Sayaji Baug (also known as Kamati Baug) was created by Maharaja Sayajirao III in 1879. Two museums, a zoo, a planetarium, a flower clock, and a moving toy railroad are among the 45-hectare park's attractions. The planetarium, which is near to the main gate, offers daily public programming in Hindi, English, and Gujarati as well as distinctive educational events.

3. Aurobindo Ashram: Sri Aurobindo founded the Aurobindo Ashram, a place of spiritual retreat. In order to relax and get away from the stresses of modern society, you can practice yoga, meditation, and other practices at the Aurobindo Ashram. It was started by renowned Indian freedom fighter, philosopher, and yoga instructor Aurobindo Ghose.
