So much more to it!

Everybody knows this little place in Maharashtra as the new real estate and manufacturing hub of India but not a lot of people are aware of the fact that it actually is so much more than that. The boost in Wakad can be attributed to the coming up of the Infotech and Biotechnology park at Hinjewadi close to the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.

There are a lot of things one can actually do at Wakad, Pune. It appeals to the millennials now because they have started having youth-centric activities in and around Wakad. With Laser Tag, classy PGs, boating, and age-old temples to retain the authenticity of the town, Wakad is indeed taking over Maharashtra as not just a manufacturing capital anymore but also as ‘the place to be’. It may not sound as interesting as a Mumbai or a Bangalore, but Wakad is an escape from the hustle bustle of the busy cosmopolitan life. Now that it has also started attracting huge companies, the infrastructure has also picked up.

To keep up with the growth and the building market, a lot of hotels have come up. My personal favorite would be one of the hotels in Pune near the railway station. Ginger Wakad Pune is not just budget-friendly but also very close to the major transportation system in Wakad (the trains). They have amazing facilities, great rooms, caring staff and mind-blowing deals. If you’re looking for just a normal escape, this is the place and if you’re looking for a business retreat, this is definitely the place. Ginger Wakad also compensates for the shortcoming in Wakad of restaurants. With delicious food and great service, I would easily title it as one of the best hotels in Wakad Pune.

The story behind Pune Airport

The airport which is used by people in Pune these days has an interesting story behind it. The airport wasn’t actually built for the use for the common people but with the growth of population density over the years, Maharashtra government finally waved a green flag to declare the Pune airport as a fully functional International airport. Located 10 kilometers away from the main city of Pune, the Pune airport is fully equipped with all the necessary security systems to fight against all types of artificial disasters. The airport has a 2535 meters long runway which is the 5th longest runway in India.

In 1939, an airfield was established in then called Poona to provide air support to then called Bombay and became the base to home the World War II squadrons and the airfield was used as the maintenance spot of the Super Marine Spitfire fighter aircraft. In May 1947, the Indian Airforce took charge of the airfield and converted into a customs airport in 1997 and was then used to export goods to other countries, specifically the Gulf countries. Much later in 2005, the airport was declared as an International airport. It started with 165 passengers on the first day and later in 2011, the number of passengers rose to 2.8 million. With rise in the number of passengers, the number of 3 star hotels in Pune also started rising and with all the hotels in Pune near airport, the city of Pune became a self-sufficient city.

Suggestions for men on what to pack when travelling in winter

During winter months, even if we are home we feel inconvenienced, but this gets amplified if one is traveling abroad in such conditions. A lot of clothing options are often unsuitable and end up being ineffective to protect you from the extreme weather. You would also require a proper staying place, so it is best to research hotels in Manesar in advance.
  • Spandex Base Layers – The clothing layers closest to your skin provide you the most warmth. Spandex materials are great for capturing body heat.
  • Full Sleeved Shirts – Full sleeved shirts do not allow you to compromise on style and at the same time cover as much of your hands as possible protecting you from the cold.
  • Sweaters – Woollen sweaters are very good at providing you protection in very cold conditions. Many good hotels in Gurgaon provide sweaters on demand to their visitors.
  • Jackets – The weight of the final layer depends on the harshness of your surroundings. Woollen jackets are overwhelmingly preferred.
  • Woollen Trousers – As you will only wear two layers on your legs, the material must be woollen so that you receive as much protection as possible.
  • Hats, Gloves and other materials – Russian style hats are preferred in extremely cold conditions. Insulated leather gloves are also a great addition to protecting your fingers.
While it’s important to carry as much as you need, we can often find ourselves packing too much or a lot more than we would require. Panicking prior to a trip to the mountains disturbs the peace of your mind. So, it is better to relax and making calm and cool choices.

Why December is the best time to plan for goa trip?

It is beyond argument that a lot of us have planned vacations and trips to Goa. Quite often, this plan doesn’t come to fruition for different reasons. Tourism to the party capital of India has increased many folds and many new 3-star hotels in Goa have opened. As we draw nearer to December, here are few reasons why you should choose this month for that eventual Goa tour:

budget hotels in goa
  • Economical - If you want to have a great time and be as cost-effective as you can, December is the perfect time for the Goa outing. The New Year’s extravaganza will soar prices of hotels so it’s the most opportune time.
  • Festivals - A celebration of Indian and Portuguese culture, the Semana de Cultura Indo Portuguese festivals starts late September and continues until December. Music, films, and cuisine are also celebrated in this festival. A trip to Goa’s churches is a must too.
  • Loners and Party Animals unite -  If you’re looking for a quiet trip with lack of social association, then December is the ideal month for you. Budget hotels in Goa in December make this possible. Regular party goers will not be dissatisfied too.
  • Music and Biking - The annual Royal Enfield Rider Mania is hosted in this month and this makes it a biker’s paradise. Here, performances from the likes of Karsh Kale and the Indian Ocean on top of Vagator Hill will make it an amazing visit.

If you have a pre-planned but unfulfilled trip to Goa, do not delay it any further. The penultimate month of the calendar year will surely make your trip worthwhile, enjoyable and memorable.
