Commissioned by Maharaja Sayajirao III, the palace reflects influences from Indian, Islamic and European cultures. Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum
Originally constructed as a school for the Maharaja’s children, the building was converted into a museum and opened to the public in April of 1961 by the then Governor of Gujarat, Nawab Mehndi Nawaz Jung. It houses the collection of the Gaekwads of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III which includes paintings, porcelain and glass artworks, sculptures and much more.
